Since 2013, a new attractive location for living, learning, working and research has been under construction on the former Nibelungen barracks. In 2016, the FOSBOS was opened for around 1,500 students.
With the TechCampus, a new technology park with around 10 hectares of space for innovative technology companies is being created in an ideal location opposite Regensburg's two universities. At the heart of the TechCampus is the TechBase. The new innovation and start-up center opened its doors to start-ups, science and research-based industry in 2016.
The TechBase innovation and start-up center is the place for technology-oriented start-ups, companies and research institutions. Thanks to its close proximity to the college and university, tenants benefit from close interaction with science and research. TechBase began operations in 2016 as a “beacon” in the new “TechCampus” technology quarter and is characterized by an innovative and sustainable energy concept, among other things.
With the TechBase, the TechCampus and the second Regensburg innovation center BioPark in the vicinity of the University of Regensburg, the transfer between business and science is significantly advanced. This is where the region's innovative minds meet to develop new technologies and products.
