Youth Economy Summit 2024 in Regensburg

10/23/2024

Representatives of the clusters and TechBase lead AI workshop

On October 21, 2024, the Youth Business Summit of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs took place for the first time in Regensburg - and TechBase was there! The annual event aims to bring current topics from the world of business closer to young people. This time, school classes from all over Bavaria were able to attend morning workshops that dealt intensively with entrepreneurship and start-ups, STEM, fake news as a threat to democracy, the Sustainable Development Goals and artificial intelligence.

TechBase Managing Director Alexander Rupprecht led the AI workshop in close cooperation with Katja Eichinger from AIR - Artificial Intelligence Regensburg and Leonie Bechtold from the Cluster Mobility & Logistics. 18 young people worked on the opportunities and risks of using and establishing AI in everyday matters as well as in schools and education - and were thus able to discuss their hopes and ideas, but also their worries and fears.

The aim of all the workshops was for the students to formulate demands and wishes for politicians and the business world in order to address them to a high-caliber panel in the afternoon:

  • Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy
  • Sofie Bauer, Chairwoman of the Regensburg Youth Advisory Council
  • Katharina Kreutzer, founder from Regensburg, Forbes “30 under 30”
  • Julia Pirzer, Consultant for Start-ups, Financing and Succession, IHK Regensburg for Upper Palatinate / Kelheim
  • Alexander Rupprecht, Managing Director of TechBase Regensburg GmbH

The event was moderated by successful founder Günes Seyfarth. The young people took a very active part in the discussion and put their questions to the panel directly on stage in the “hot seat”. The VIPs were consistently enthusiastic and very optimistic about the active and critical participation of the students. Katharina Kreutzer gave aspiring founders another valuable tip: serious, intrinsic motivation for their own start-up idea is often one of the most important criteria for success in her environment. And: enter the market as early as possible instead of spending a long time fine-tuning the product.

TechBase would like to thank the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Valentum Kommunikation for the excellent organization of the event.
